Banquet waiter / Room service

Under the supervision of the head waiter and restaurant management, the commis waiter plays a versatile role, assisting with both banquet operations and room service. During events, they contribute to the smooth running of banquets. Outside of these times, they provide room service, offering a fast, efficient, and courteous guest experience.

Job description 

     Banquet section:

  • Prepare and arrange the serving trays and trolleys;
  • Verify the accuracy of the orders;
  • Set up the stations (dishes, coffee, condiments, etc.);
  • Assisting servers during service;
  • Clear the tables and maintain the cleanliness of the premises;
  • Setting up and dismantling event rooms;
  • Provide break service (snacks, coffee, etc.)
  • Conduct tours to ensure customer satisfaction.

     Room Service component:

  • Taking orders (phone or form);
  • Transmit orders to the kitchen or bar;
  • Prepare the trays and delivery trolleys;
  • Perform room delivery professionally;
  • Check customer satisfaction;
  • Collect the dishes and maintain the cleanliness of the floors.

Required qualifications 

  • Relevant experience in catering or customer service;
  • Training in hospitality or catering (an asset).

Skills and abilities 

  • Team spirit and a sense of service;
  • Courtesy and professionalism;
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment;
  • Good physical condition;
  • Functional English (English-speaking clientele).
