Computer technician

Reporting to the IT Director, the technician is primarily responsible for the installation of computer equipment. He/she must provide support to users, involving nearly 150 computer stations. The functions we are looking to fill require level 1 and 2 skills. The person in this position will also have to learn to use software such as Maestro, Synerion (TimeZone), Room Check In, etc. In addition, he/she must perform all other related tasks that may be requested by his/her superior.

Job description

  • Repairs, maintains, sets up and updates computer equipment in the seven hotel establishments;
  • Consult user guides, technical manuals and other documents to identify and implement solutions;
  • Programming and maintenance of surveillance cameras and recorders in the hotels;
  • Updates, maintenance and configuration of servers;
  • Ensure data and software backup and security;
  • Configuration and repair of hotel time stamps (15 devices);
  • Software and hardware support;
  • Provide user support for administrative, network and internet systems in response to identified difficulties;
  • Verification and maintenance of security procedures (anti-virus, anti-spam, firewall, etc.).
  • Configure all Hotel iPhones and iPads;

Education

  • College diploma in computer science;
  • Two (2) to three (3) years’ experience.
  • Knowledge of English and French;
  • Must have a car to travel from one establishment to another in Quebec City;
  • The candidate must be available every other weekend to intervene in case of an emergency rendering operations inoperable in the establishments.
