Celebrating Quebec: Where to go?

It’s almost time to take out your Fleurdelisé (the famous Quebec province flag), your white and blue accessories and to sing Happy Birthday Quebec! The celebratory weekend of June 23 and 24 is almost here. There are several activities in Quebec City to meet up and have fun for the Fête nationale du Quebec. The whole city will move to the sound of Quebec music during the entire weekend!

To help you choose where you will celebrate, here is a list of interesting events around town:

The Plains of Abraham

Every year, the Plains, beautiful urban park in the heart of the city, organizes the great Fête nationale show! Following the patriotic theme, artists like Gregory Charles, Isabelle Boulay, Garou, Les Soeurs Boulay, Annie Villeneuve, Jean-Pierre Ferland and many more are going to perform their best francophone songs. Quebec’s birthday is a good occasion to celebrate, so come sing and dance to the beat of an incredible show. For this year’s edition, both children and adults will get to play giant board games at the Place de l’Assemblée-Nationale from 3 PM to 7 PM. The main show will start at 7 PM. Sainte-Foy-Sillery-Cap-Rouge

Located near some of our hotels, Sainte-Foy-Sillery-Cap-Rouge district celebrates the Fête nationale in three of its parks. Activities in Saint-Benoit Park will be carried out from 12 PM to 10 PM, from 1 PM to 10:30 PM in Saint-Louis-de-France Park, and in Sainte-Geneviève Park. Familial picnic, inflatable games, hot dogs, fireworks and many more activities will happen all weekend long. Events vary from one park to the other. To learn more.

Saint-Augustin-de-Desmaures

The town of Saint-Augustin-de-Desmaures is located just a few minutes ride from hotel Quebec Inn and Hotel Must and has prepared many family activities for Saturday, June 23. Events are beginning at 10:30 AM at Millénaire Park. You’ll find all kinds of rides, inflatable games, pony rides, children makeup, mascots and more! Cité-Limoilou

In the Limoilou District, the Fête nationale lasts two days! On both June 23 and 24, come and enjoy a local activity program for all ages. On Saturday, from 1 PM to 11 PM at Anse-à-Cartier Park, you’ll get to enjoy a dodgeball demonstration, family activities, inflatable games and historical tours during the whole afternoon, followed by a vibrant reggae show by CHX Soundsystem. Don’t forget to come back for more on Sunday, June 24, because the party keeps going! More family activities, kiosks, inflatable games and more will start at 11 AM on the last day of the weekend and will end at 7 PM. Two different shows will be carried out during the afternoon. Breakeyville: Lévis city

In Lévis, a 15 minutes ride away from Quebec City, you will find a charming district called Breakeyville, and Breakeyvillois have prepared quite an interesting schedule for Sunday, June 24. The celebrations will start on the church’s property with a Saint-Jean-Baptiste Mass, and will continue at Ian Breakey Park at 3 PM with original activities such as a tennis introduction, an ATV-driving introduction for children, a car exposition, a climbing wall and a lip-sync performance. To end the day on a good note, singer Mathieu Roy will take the stage followed by the classic Fête nationale fireworks show.
