Job description
- Research and negotiate the best prices while ensuring a level of quality that meets company standards.
- Evaluate, select and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
- Conduct comparative analyses (price, quality, availability, substitutes).
Identify cost-saving opportunities and propose optimization strategies.
Inventory and supply management
- Collaborating with culinary teams to optimize inventory levels.
- Implement effective management practices to reduce losses, stockouts and overstocking.
Track inventory movements, analyze discrepancies and recommend adjustments.
Cost control – Food and drink
- Establish, track and analyze food and beverage costs.
- Produce performance reports (food cost, beverage cost, variations, trends).
Collaborating with chefs to optimize recipe cards and portions.
Compliance
- Ensure that purchasing, receiving and storage practices comply with MAPAQ standards.
- Maintain vigilance regarding applicable rules and train/advise teams as needed.
- Supervise the application of hygiene and sanitation standards.
- Conduct internal audits (MAPAQ and regulatory requirements).
- Collaborating during inspections and corrective follow-ups
Education
- Degree in procurement, logistics, administration or related field.
- Experience in purchasing within the food, hotel or restaurant industry.
- Bilingualism French / English (English-speaking suppliers).
- Good knowledge of MAPAQ standards (accreditation an asset)
Skills
- Excellent negotiation skills and a strong analytical mind.
- Knowledge of inventory principles and F&B cost control.
- Proficiency in computer tools (Excel, inventory systems, ERP an asset).
- Rigour, autonomy and the ability to work with several operational teams.
